(Toronto, July 1, 2008) - The John Brooks Community Foundation and Scholarship fund with the support of Ryerson Caribbean Research Centre will be holding a Memorial Celebration for Dr. Clovis John Brooks, O.M.C, O.D, LL.D, C.M, O.Ont. on July 5^th, 2008.

Dr. Brooks passed away on May 4, 2008, ending a life of service to the community.  He impacted the lives of many people, in particular young people, in a significant way. The John Brooks Community Foundation and Scholarship Fund is committed, with the help of the community and our sponsors, to continuing his vision and legacy.

We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate in song, dance and testimonials from past recipients, sponsors and community members, a man with a vision and determination to ensure our youth are given a chance to succeed and realize their educational dreams.

When: Saturday, July 5th 2008
Time: 4:30p.m formal presentations, followed by a reception
Where: Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers Business Auditorium, 575 Bay St. (Entrance at 55 Dundas Street West).
